SAVANNAH, GA IN JANUARY

John surprised me with a trip up to Savannah for my 23rd birthday. This trip actually took place way before I started this site, so I wasn't taking photos with creating posts like this in mind. Therefore, some of the detail shots are missing of certain locations, but I wanted to still include them because I definitely recommend checking these places out. Of course, I've included links to all the places featured in this post, so if you'd like to see more about them, check out their Foursquare or their personal website linked on there.

I hope this post still helps you find some cool and interesting places to check out in Savannah while you're in the area. :)

DOUBLETREE BY HILTON HOTEL SAVANNAH HISTORIC DISTRICT

This hotel is located right across the street from the famous Savannah River Walk with its historic buildings full of shops, restaurants and bars. The majority of these first photos were taken from their roof.

AROUND DOWNTOWN

Civvies is an awesome vintage and second-hand clothing store.

SAVANNAH RIVER WALK

The Savannah River Walk is a must see -- its definitely one of the most popular places to visit in the area for tourists, and as I mentioned before, the area is full of cool shops, restaurants and bars. If you're into sweets theres a huge old candy shop with literally barrels full of treats. I would also recommend checking out a place called Wet Willie's too, as they have amazing alcoholic slushies you're allowed to walk around with as per Savannah's city laws.

BACK IN THE DAY BAKERY

This bakery is one of the best I have ever been to. They have a ton of great specialty coffees (like their Iced Latte with Honey Lavender) and sweet treats. Not to mention, the inside of the shop is adorable and well-decorated. Have breakfast here, or just grab a coffee and take a peek inside.

FOXY LOXY CAFÉ

Foxy Loxy is a cool cafe that looks like a traditional Savannah-styled home. You can grab some food or coffee and find a place to hang on the first or second floor or even on the patio out back. Its definitely a cool and different spot worth checking out. We stopped in briefly to grab some food before we headed home.

SAVANNAH GHOST TOUR

John and I actually signed up for one of the thousands of ghost tours offered in Savannah during our visit. If you're into the paranormal then you have to go on at least one. The tours range from driving around in hearses to all the haunted spots, to walking tours where you get to stop at some bars along the way. I wish I could remember the name of the exact one we went on, but since its been awhile I can't remember it and because we booked over the phone, theres no confirmation email to dig up. The tours are entertaining and a lot of fun, and a cool way to experience a city since they take place at night.
