DAY 1 - ORLANDO ✈ COPENHAGEN ✈ NORWAY

My first time traveling abroad! Our flight was scheduled to leave MCO at 11pm and arrive in Copenhagen around 11am for a short layover. From there, we were set to land in Norway around 3:30pm.

The flight seemed relatively short in between the movies offered on our personal TVs and getting some much needed rest. Although I did not come prepared with a travel pillow or any accessories to help aid in getting some sleep, I was spoiled by our high tech plane that was equipped with a quieter cabin, cabin pressure set at 1,800 meters (instead of 2,400) to reduce jet lag, and windows that self-adjusted to dim the sunlight. Our overnight flight took place on one of Norwegian Airline's 787 Dreamliners, which is said to be the most technically advanced aircraft to date. Along with the features that make it a more comfortable flight, it is also said to be one of the greenest flights in the world as it emits 20% less than other comparable aircrafts (you can read about it if you'd like here).

COMFORT HOTEL XPRESS CENTRAL STATION

This place is one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed at. A nice lobby with modern decor that continues into the room. Forget tacky patterns and cheap looking designs, everything in this hotel is simple yet chic. Not to mention, I probably "Shazamed" at least one song every time I was in the lobby; not sure who is in charge of what plays, but the music selection did not disappoint.

This Comfort Hotel Xpress is located right next to Oslo City, a massive mall with over 90 shops and restaurants. It is also conveniently located next to Jernbanetorget (Railway Square), also known as Oslo Central Station, which is the largest railway station within the entire Norwegian railway system.

DAY 2 - EXPLORING NORWAY'S HISTORY THROUGH MUSEUMS

BREAKFAST AT BURRITO PROJECT + JOE & THE JUICE

I have to admit, to a certain extent, finding vegan options in Norway was a bit of a challenge. It seemed that many people thought "vegan" was more along the lines of "vegetarian." We still were able to find some great food, but don't expect to be able to find vegan options specifically offered/labeled at most restaurants. However, there are definitely still options out there; the burrito project was so good.

VIKINGSKIPSHUSET: THE VIKING SHIP MUSEUM

THE NORSK FOLKEMUSEUM

The "Norsk Folkemuseum," aka the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, is just up the road from the Viking ship museum. Admission for adults is NOK125, or about $15 USD. If you're up for some walking and want to learn a ton about Norway's history, this is the place to be. I'm not sure that I covered the full grounds while I was there, even after spending the majority of the day checking out all the exhibits. The museum is both indoors and outdoors, which even includes old buildings from Oslo in "The Old Town" as well as The Stave Church (both pictured below).

The day we were there was quite gloomy + rainy, so the mix of the indoor and outdoor exhibits was nice and I kind of like the way the weather influenced the photos. My personal favorite exhibit was The Stave Church and the dreary look provided by the weather made it seem that much cooler.

DAY 1 TO BE CONTINUED: THE OSLO OPERA HOUSE

In order to avoid an even lengthier post, I decided to give the Oslo Opera House its own post since I have so many photos of that location.
